Goldhill Malvern

Gold Hill is a striking Victorian building, with the earliest parts of the building dating back to the 1800’s. It was originally built as a hotel before being converted to a care home. It still retains many original features, such as its striking reception desk. It's set against the beautiful back drop of the Malvern hills, but is still close to all the amenities of the local shops, train station and bus stops. The house’s character and surroundings add to the warm, caring and friendly atmosphere of Gold Hill.

We have recently been fully refurbished, and can offer a clean and welcoming environment, with various lounges, dining room, kitchenette, outside smoking sheleter, and beautiful en-suite rooms.

We aim to provide a safe comfortable and stimulating environment for our residents, and our dedicated staff support services users to be as independent as possible.

Choosing your home.

We understand that choosing the right care home is an important decision, which is why we have ensured life at our care homes is as unique as our residents. We suggest visiting our home, so that you get to meet the team and see what we have to offer. It is essential to see if you have found the right home to suit you or your loved ones personality. We aim to support the person first and the condition second, which means making sure our residents feel as independent as possible in a warm and homely environment.

You can make an appointment or call in at any time, whichever is more convenient. A member of staff will be more than happy to discuss your requirements and your wishes with you.

Bedrooms

Our bedrooms are each attractively decorated, and offer a clean, fresh, and contemporary space. We have four different types of bedroom:

  • single rooms with en-suite showers and toilets
  • single rooms with en-suite toilets
  • single rooms
  • a limited number of shared rooms, ideal for couples

All the rooms have television points and a nurse call system.

We encourage residents to bring personal possessions and replace furniture with their own to help create a home from home.

Food

Our residents have a varied, wholesome and balanced diet. All our meals are prepared from scratch by our professional chef and her team. we serve three main meals – breakfast, lunch and a light supper. These are served in our light and airy dining room, although some residents prefer to eat in their rooms. We also serve morning, afternoon and evening tea. Hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day. We have a service users kitchenette, that allows people to independently choose when and what they would like to drink or snack.

Menus change weekly and seasonally. Typically lunch might be a traditional roast, which our residents particularly enjoy. Fish and traditional casseroles also make regular appearances on our menus. For supper, residents can choose from one freshly cooked item or a selection of soups and freshly made sandwiches if they prefer a lighter option.

As well as our menu, we also offer a wide range of extras so all our residents are well catered for. It’s important to us that our residents eat the food they want to and are able to eat, which is why we make a careful note of the likes and dislikes of every resident. Naturally, we are able to cater for residents with particular dietary requirements.

Activities

We encourage our residents to keep up hobbies and interests and we provide practical help and support where it’s needed to do so. This might include accompanying a resident on a regular trip to the local library, a shopping expedition or a visit to an activity centre. We also encourage residents to take up new interests; again, we offer support where it’s needed.

Visiting

Gold Hill quickly becomes a resident's home from home. We therefore have no formal visiting times.

Instead, we actively encourage friends and relations to visit as often as they want at a time that is convenient for them and the resident they are visiting. Visitors may wish to pop in for a few minutes on their way to or from work. They may also wish to join their loved ones as they take part in any of our activities. . Any such arrangement – or any other visiting arrangement that suits the resident – is fine by us.

A visit is an ideal opportunity to discuss aspects of a loved one's care. Visitors can discuss any concerns or ideas with our team.
